  Delicious food and excellent prices!
  Good service too.
  Lengua en verde and seafood dishes were all very, very good.

  After seeing how busy this restaurant was whenever I'd visit Big Lots next door, I figured I'd try it out today for lunch. The restaurant was not busy but also not slow as it was later in the afternoon, so I found myself a table and after a couple minutes, I was greeted and given a menu. After about 5-10 minutes, a waitress came over and I ordered the cheese enchilada and a beef taco combo plate, which included refried beans and rice. I asked for a glass of water and when the waitress brought it, she started to walk away before I could ask for a straw. I'm well aware of the new straw law but I also heard the waitress ask a female customer at a table over if she wanted a straw, so it's not like I was able to ask to begin with.
  Anyhow, 15 minutes passed by before my plate came out. The beans, rice and enchilada were fantastic, however I was not too crazy about the taco, as the beef was shredded and didn't have much flavor. It's also my fault not to have asked if the beef was shredded or ground, otherwise I would have gotten a chicken taco. The lettuce and cheese toppings fell out of the taco so that became a small side salad on my plate.
  The portions on the plate are well worth the cost of the and I ate everything. After I was done, it took forever for my check to arrive. By this time I was there for almost an hour and was ready to go. Customers were steadily coming in and out but the dining area was never completely full. After waiting for so long, I just handed the waitress my card when she brought the check over because I was ready to get out of there. I also noticed that this waitress never gave me eye contact through my entire visit. I could have used a refill on my water but didn't want to wait, so I left after signing the receipt.
  Overall, (most of) the food was great, however the service could have been much better. Based on the other yelp reviews and what I've seen whenever I'm by there, perhaps I just came on a bad day. I'd still like to return for breakfast, so we'll have to see.

  Words bellowed by Etta James; later recaptured by Beyonce', prove picture perfect when personifying this local Mexican refectory bearing a like-minded name.
  
  In advance,.....EVERYBODY knows that the truest testament towards Mexican greatness is (hands down) THE SALSA!
  
  Given their moniker my expectations when making way here were preset prior to arriving.
  
  Small in stature (the size of your neighborhood Starbucks) Salsa's comes HIGHLY recommended ........provided you possess time to spare, laundry LOADS of patience or a HUGGGGGE delay between your connecting flight and/or final resting place!
  
  "Flipping frijoles" from Date Palm and Highway 111 did I find myself here upon perusing all of the exceptionally written 5 star reviews.
  
  From the "get-go", it was virtually as if I'd stumbled into the direct epicenter of both, pain and pandemonium; kinda' like Wal Mart after a Black Friday sale as they recollect their spirits to better prepare for individual returns the following day.
  
  Seating myself, while most of the employees presented me with their index finger(s) while continuing to pay me no such nevermind, neither traversed any bit out of their way(s) to provide me with adequately standard acknowledging or any such salutation as a potential future paying guest.
  
  Thereon I waited... and waited... and whew-
  
               "Aaaaaaaaaat Lasssssst!"
  
  I was greeted and presented chips & salsa from some randomly timed, unidentifiable server. I also received H2O (void of a straw) yet having already waited for such an immense duration, it goes w/o stating that I CLEARLY knew what I wanted ---
  
  --- What I wanted was to MINIMIZE MY STRUGGLE and GET THE HECK BACK OUTTA' THIS UNHURRIED HASH HOUSE!!!
  
  *** I can't be alone in this,...but does anyone else ever just want to skip past the b/s, avoid eye contact, place their dayum order, pay AND be on their merry little way?
  
  Don't trek in whilst anticipating such here!
  
  I ordered a Patron margarita, photographed as being some type of special - that seemingly required the bartender visit Jalisco just to conjure!
  
  Having rehearsed my food order to verbalize it when requesting this elixir,..I'm deducting a star simply because as my (now) empty glass of H2O collected cobwebs from the corner of the table, in addition to neglecting to refill it - NO ONE EVER RETURNED to inquire on what the hell I wanted to eat!
  
  Did they think I was there to do their taxes?!!
  
  Thereon... I waited ...and waited and BEYONCE' IN COACHELLA - where the phuk did deez' hoez' disappear to?!
  
  An order of ceviche arrived afterwards & I was FINALLY presented an opportunity to add on entrees just to be told, "I'm not your server..."
  
  (...sigh)
  
  This is the very how come Taco Bell (around the corner) has a line! No doubt are they picking up the slack from this place!
  
  I'd honestly been sitting for such a lengthy duration that I didn't even recall ordering ceviche.
  
  I reckon you're never too old for subtle surprises, right?
  
  The fact that at my time of entry, 4 out of 5 of the previously empty tables were now full AND THEIR PATRONS HAD ALREADY BEEN SERVED MEALS is blatant bullsh!t, yet having placed orders "to go" for others waiting at home - recognizing they had to be twice as famished as I was, ...my initially requested "for here" meal went uneaten and needed to be boxed "to go" as well, simply so that I could make up for lost time and get the hell outta' this joint in time enough to facilitate other obligations prior to the commencement of September's school re-enrollment OR Christ returning!
  
  The fastest part of my session was requesting the check in which case it was presented at what appeared to be lightspeed, THENNNNNN it dawned on me:

  (+)  Salsa's offers an affordable, authentic Mexican culinary experience from off of the beaten path.
  
  (-)  The paltry con to this is that they do so w/ a "Californian take" on customer service.
  
  The food (2 chicken salads & a quesadilla) were OUTSTANDING if not blatantly EXCEPTIONAL as was my order of ceviche & margarita.
  
  Sadly, I don't possess enough hours w/in a day to wait a lifetime for cheese melted w/in a frickin' tortilla ORRRR tequila that just so happened to take a special trip around the blender w/ a douse of sweet & sour ----AND while I recognize that most of the Coachella Valley's demographic consists of retirees &/or geriatrics a mere oxygen tank away from making their deathbeds, provided this joint is THIS ^ painstakingly preoccupied w/in Palm Springs's off season,....I can't begin to fathom, as a local, what service is like once the snowbirds actually begin to arrive!

  I always see this place when I go to Pic n Save , I smell the beans see the people. Today we went in.
  Great Service , Good Coffee awesome variety of selections. Highly recommended.

  We went back for dinner at 8pm on a Saturday, very crowded as usual but at least we didn't have to wait for a table. This time we ordered sauce on side because they are a little heavy handed on sauce especially for the del mar burrito.
  Fried tilapia was good, however was a little oily on the bottom.
